June 22, 2022: On Tuesday, June 22, UCSB employees Paulina Bernal and Miguel Caravalho generously volunteered their time and expertise to share essential financial wellness skills with English as a second language (ESL) students at Union County College.
The event welcomed a crowd of 50 attendees who were eager to learn ways to manage their money better. Covered in both Spanish and English to serve the needs of the audience, topics included the principles of basic banking and tips for how the students can improve their credit scores. Many thanks to Paulina and Miguel for the tremendous effort they put into this successful community event and for a job well done!
Don’t Forget… Effective June 1, 2022, UCSB employees who volunteer at a charitable organization each calendar year will receive paid time off (PTO). Full-time employees are eligible for eight hours of volunteer PTO and part-time employees are eligible for four hours of volunteer PTO. Be on the lookout for upcoming volunteer opportunities.
